One of the things that has remained constant is the design on the back of Magic: The Gathering cards for obvious reasons, namely that you need to ensure that no matter what set a Magic card is from, it should be completely indistinguishable from any other card in a deck
There are only seven Illusion cards in the deck , and a lot of the remainder, like Treasure Guardian , build on them
Personally I think it makes for more interesting strategy, but if the aim is to carve out a competing slice of the online CCG space, the complexity this adds may still prove to be an obstacle
They also get the more scarce in Magic instances of removing counters or dealing out -1/-1 counters
The best part is that this can return to the battlefield at instant speed, but entering tapped means you wont use it as a surprise blocker
